We know you have questions — especially when it comes to your child. Here are honest answers to the ones parents ask most.
KidHop connects families with approved transportation providers through monthly transportation plans. These are professional operators who already have the vehicles, insurance, and experience to transport children safely — they just need the right clients to fill their routes. KidHop handles the matching, scheduling, and communication so parents have one dependable, recurring transportation solution when the school bus doesn't work for their family.
No. KidHop is not a rideshare app. You won't be matched with a different transportation provider every day. KidHop works with vetted transportation operators on consistent, scheduled routes — so your child rides with the same provider, at the same time, every day.
KidHop is currently serving the Greater Houston Area. We build routes based on family demand — when enough families in an area register and providers are available, we launch service for that community.
We build routes based on where registered families are located. Register and share your child's school and location — we'll let you know if a route is available or being planned in your area.
Depending on your route, your child will be transported by one of two vetted transportation provider types: a licensed, consistent independent transportation provider, or a small licensed transportation company. Both are background-checked, carry the required insurance, and are matched to the same route every day so your child rides with a familiar, consistent transportation provider. Every KidHop transportation provider holds a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle they operate, and our small transportation company partners operating larger passenger vehicles maintain the appropriate commercial licensing required for their vehicles.
Our transportation partners use small buses and vans that are properly licensed and insured for passenger transport. These are not personal vehicles — they are commercial transportation vehicles operated by professional companies.
KidHop uses Glympse, a secure GPS location-sharing platform, to provide parents with real-time visibility during active trips. You'll receive a secure tracking link before each trip so you can monitor your child's transportation provider in real time — no app download required. Plus, you'll receive notifications at pickup and again at drop-off every day. You will never be left wondering where your child is.
KidHop communicates proactively. If anything is running off schedule, you'll be notified before you have to ask. Founder JodyAnn Baker is personally involved in route oversight and parent communication, ensuring every family's experience is handled with care.
That's completely normal. Before your child's first day, we'll walk you through exactly what to expect — who the transportation provider is, what the vehicle looks like, what time pickup will be, and how drop-off works. We want your child to feel comfortable, not surprised.
KidHop works to notify families promptly and coordinate an alternate transportation solution whenever possible.
Driver Partners complete our onboarding process and must meet KidHop's transportation requirements before accepting rides.

Yes. The AM or PM plan covers a single direction of your choice — either morning drop-off at school or afternoon pickup and delivery home.
We know schedules aren't always perfectly predictable. We'll discuss your specific scheduling needs during the onboarding call and work out the best approach for your family.
No. We want families to feel confident in the service before making any long-term commitment. We'll be transparent about all terms before anything is finalized.
Routes start with demand. When enough families in the same geographic area register, KidHop works with our transportation partners to build a route that serves your neighborhood and your school. We launch service in an area once there is enough demand nearby to make the route viable and reliable.
Register and we'll confirm your area, your child's school, and your schedule. As other families in your neighborhood join, we work toward launching a route. When a route is forming in your area, we'll reach out to schedule an onboarding call. Founding families lock in current pricing as the service grows.
Route timing depends on demand in your specific area. Once you register, we'll track when enough families near you have signed up for the same school or neighborhood. When we're forming a route in your area, we'll reach out directly to schedule a quick onboarding call. We'll never leave you guessing.
You'll stay on our list and we'll contact you as soon as enough families in your area have signed up. There's no limit to how many routes KidHop can build — registration is the beginning, not the only opportunity. We'll keep you updated as your area grows.
Reach out directly — we respond to every message personally. No bots, no automated replies. Just a real person who genuinely wants to help your family find a solution.
KidHop is growing — one community at a time.
